Last Day at People's Association (PA)
Aug. 3rd, 2009 | 02:13 pm
To sum up what I've enjoyed/learnt/discover:
1. I've made WONDERFUL colleagues who never fails to brighten up ur Monday blues.
2. But quite annoying of them also.
3. I've learnt how to calculate fixed deposits amount.
4. I've learnt how to pretend I'm busy when I'm not.
5. And lastly, how to cover my ass to not get involve in office politics.
Through my 2.5 months at PA, I've also realised that we need to be tactful with our words and I need to attend anger-management course in dealing with some not so nice people (person).
And when the last week came, we started counting down days by days.
And when the last day came, we started counting down hours by hours.
I don't like the environment there, but I enjoyed the accompany of my colleagues.
We were so bored that we even started a grow-your-own-beansprout contest.
And on the last day, we went for a farewell dinner too (sob sob...)
I shall never go back to PA!

The contestants! Cindy is the winner (the one in red)

Farewell dinner (too bad Greg and Ben can't join us!)
Will surely miss all of you! :)

Happy Belated 20th Birthday! :)
Jul. 25th, 2009 | 09:15 pm
But I still want to blog about it.
I'VE TURNED 20! woohoo~hahaha.
On the 17th of July, my colleagues at PA organised a mini-celebration for me.
I'm usually a pretty alert girl but this time round their surprise plan seems almost flawless,
except for the part that I found matchsticks in Gaya's drawer and I believed her when she told me she smokes. (OMG, how stupid!)
Thanks to: Gaya, Henry, Hazel, Cindy and Ben. Loved the cake and the ANNOYING red rose very much!
On the actual day itself, I had my zone YWD formation day meeting in the morning. It was truly a significant day for me, not only did I celebrated my birthday, but I think this day is each and every single YWDs' birthday too! :)
Celebrated with the boyfriend as well. A pink rose and a nice watch. As usual, no photos are disclose thou' we took lots of them! hahaha.
Genting genting...come come come!
Photos time! :)

2nd row: Benjamin, Henry, Gaya

Up: The famous Mt.Fuji in Japan (Photo taken by boyfriend in April 09')
Down: Singapore' own Mount Fuji (Photo taken by me! haha. Changi Village, May 09')
Who do I sleep with?
A glimpse of my family...

From left: Eyore, Minnie, Mickey, Po, Piglet and my pikachu blanket :)
A background story of Po...

In year 1999, Teletubbies was a favourite amond kids.
As for me, I like Po a lot.
In that year, I was still in Primary 4 and I kept nagging my mom to buy for me this huge plush toy of Po.
She initially refused bcos' it's quite costly, about $100.
However, I did pretty well for my exams.
And my mom plan for a lil' surprise for me...
While I was bathing,
My mom placed Po on a stool,
and when I came out of the shower room,
tada! I saw Po.
Until now, Po has accompanied with me for 10 years.
She has walked a decade of my life with me...
A very good companion she is :)

mood:
busy
Hence, I decide to make it appear that I'm busy, typing frantically in this entry. Hahaha.
The officer in-charge of my team has taken leave,
and has assigned no work for the both of us.
Only Greg's busy checking his accounts right now,
and I've NO work to do since last week.
I visit games website, and played some brainless games from 2-6pm.
I disturbed my partner Greg even when he's very busy to meet his deadline,
I e-mailed the boyfriend who's also very busy at work.
Hence, to those who reads my entry,
do chat with me anytime from 0830-1800.
I seriously have nothing to do!
Yesterday, mom and dad went to Desaru for a day-trip.
I woke up feeling really lazy,
and hence dialled for Mac's delivery.
When my big breakfast was delivered to me,
I felt so adult-ish.
hahaha. Like first time calling for Mac delivery without having to seek for my parent's permission...
I'll be uploading some interesting photos soon.
15th of June...oh pls, let me passed.

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY ELENA!
Elena turns 20 today!
She's one of the earliest among us 3 who turns 20 this year. hahaha.
Had an early celebration for her with meifung, munping, tara at Fish n Co.
It was really good catch-up.
But going out with Meifung is really a very tiring thing,
not really enjoyable.
She does things that you wouldn't expect.
Meifung uses baby wipes wet tissues to wipe her mouth and after wiping her mouth, she asks: "Can use this to wipe my mouth hor?"
We almost fainted!
Meifung suggested "Hey, let's go to Cotton On!"
After shopping inside for awhile, she asks: What's the name of this shop?"
Hai...
I'm not so blur after all okay!

Tara, Elena (the birthday girl!) and me :)
Tara and me :) Look at her with a ghostly pose.
Meifung, Munping, Elena, Tara with her half her face cut off and me :)
Nice one!
More pictures coming up when Elena sends me!

Work, work, work.
May. 23rd, 2009 | 07:38 pm
mood:
bored
Initially, I quite regretted it, thinking it would be better if I return to SIRS (my ex-company),
at least the environment would be more fun with Uncle Sim and people I knew.
But things at work starts to get better on the 2nd and 3rd day.
My team consist of 7 of us from SIM, so we sort of click. Not so bad.
Work on the first day was super boring.
I was in-charged of all the accounts in the South East district, like Bedok, Siglap RC and NC etc.
Which makes up to about 1000 accounts!
And I've to generate their Balance sheet, Profit & Loss account and Cash Flow Statement.
The good thing is I don't have to use my brain,
since the program will do it for us.
The sad thing is the program is not user-friendly!
Being an IT-idiot, I took quite a long time to understand how the accounting program works. aiyo!
Had a team meeting on 2nd day. More work load was thrown on us.
Then it makes me ponder what are the perm staffs doing. tsk tsk.
As for ytd, the full set of accounts, both the hardcopy and softcopy accounts came in.
Which really gives me a big headache since I've to re-do most of the accounts,
and especially tiring when I'm trying to calculate bank recon, bank statement and fixed deposit slips.
Trying my best to recall what Jabbar has taught us so as not to disturb my trainer so much.
He sits extremely far from me! aiyo!

A glimpse of my workplace. Not very clear...but look at the amount of paperwork to be sorted out before closing the accounts!

Still using those old kind of desktop. But I shouldn't complain much since I still have internet access and using meebo to chat with friends.
Henry suggested that I retake some pictures of my workplace after I place some flower pots.
Greg says: I feel like a teacher marking student's account assignments.
Me: Eh...put it in a nicer way. We're doing audit-look alike work.
Definitely will have monday blues at work.

mood:
excited
Can only sleep after 2am, automatically wakes up at 8:30am.
Trying hard...trying hard...trying hard.
Watched 'Angels and Demons' with the boyfriend today!
It's definitely worth the money.
I wanted to catch 'Ramn Girl' initially, but the boyfriend simply refuses.
But A&D is not so bad after all.
The plot is good and a surprise twist at the end.
Next up should be 'Night at the museum 2'.
Oh and I'm starting my temp job soon.
It's at people's association, finance department.
I hope everything will go well.
The boyfriend asks me to go Merill Lynch be a cleaner.
What the hell la!

A test of my faith-yet again.
Apr. 9th, 2009 | 09:19 pm
mood:
determined
And I find myself asking this question again: Are my prayers answered?
I remember for this prelim, I chanted to have the wisdom, high-life condition and to be able to finish my revision on time.
And yes, I felt I was having WISDOM, HIGH-LIFE CONDITION during all my papers.
But I wasn't able to finish my revision...cos' I tried cramping everything into my head the last minute.
So I can't put the blame on anyone except on myself.
And I chanted for this: To have the kind of results that can motivate me and push me to study much harder.
I know if I score too well, I'll get complacent and neglect my revision for the main exams.
So, gohonzon is just fair enough to answer my prayers: giving me a good pass.
And that kind of results reflects the amount of effort I put in.
Must really work harder now.
Sensei's guidance:
When your determination changes, everything else begins to move in the direction you desire.
The moment you resolve to be victorious, every nerve and fiber in your being immediately orient themselves toward your success.
